FALL EVENTS ARE FAST APPROACHING!
While many of us are lamenting the passing of the final weeks of summer, we are also looking forward to the special worship services and activities that are looming on the horizon. Take a look at what is coming:
Sunday, September 5th – LABOR DAY WEEKEND – Final Outdoor Worship Service . . . . We have been blessed with wonderful weather for our first two outdoor services and hope it will be the same for this one. We will gather together at 9:00 a.m. in our picnic grove pavilion. Bring lawn chairs for more comfortable seating. The “Raise Up Praise” service at 11:00 a.m. is cancelled for this day.
Sunday, September 12 – BLESSING OF THE BACKPACKS – BOTH SERVICES (9:00 and 11:00 a.m.) . . . Our young people will have already started another school year and we wish to give them a special blessing to carry them throughout this year. Even our older folks who are involved in education are encouraged to bring their day planner or briefcase to be included in the blessing. God has given us the ability to learning so we lift our prayers and praises for the gift!
Sunday, September 12 – First Sunday for KID’S PRAISE beginning at 10:10 a.m. All children are invited to come out for our education time that really doesn’t feel like going to Sunday School. Check back for more information.
SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 26 – HOMECOMING SERVICE honoring our congregation’s history of sharing the word and sacrament with the Smallwood community. Members (past & present) and friends of the congregation are encouraged to join with us for one service beginning at 10:30 a.m. Final preparations are being planned so check back for social details tied to this celebration. Dave Kulow is planning to set up a “history museum” in the Social Hall. Anyone who has “artifacts” of Trinity to share should let Dave know. This will be a wonderful opportunity to celebrate all the dedication and efforts our congregation has shown through the years since the first service of Trinity Lutheran Church back in 1866.
CRAB FEAST and MOVIE NIGHT – Mark your calendars for September 18th , 6:30 p.m. for the Trinity Crab feast & Movie Night! This is always a great evening of fellowship, the Maryland Tradition of Crabs, and a good movie to round out the evening. Come for Crabs! Come for the Movie! Come for the Evening. Contact Arlene Grantland, [email protected].
FALLFEST PARADE – SEPTEMBER 23 starting at 7:00 p.m. – Trinity will be taking part in the Westminster Fallfest Parade by building a float to take down Main Street. Bob Luce is supplying the tractor and wagon. We need to provide the decorating ideas and people to ride! Contact Arlene at [email protected] to share your ideas.
Trinity is alive and well and we invite you to join with us as we share the good news of Jesus Christ through worship and activities!!
